The North Shore, also called the North Crown, is the name commonly given to the entire northern suburbs of the metropolitan region of Montreal, Quebec.
Its territory extends on the north shore of the Mille Îles River and is made up of 20 municipalities distributed between the Laurentides and Lanaudière regions.
Although the city of Laval is commonly, but erroneously, associated with the North Shore, it is not part of it due to its island status.
Municipalities with more than 20,000 inhabitants are listed in bold. The type of municipal status is distributed as follows: city (V), municipality (M) or parish municipality (P).
The North Shore of Montreal has a population of approximately 555,700 inhabitants.
